Elementary: Honorable Mention
The Girl
I see a girl sitting by a jewelry
store, just waiting for something. I
wonder if I’ll ever know what she’s waiting
for or who she’s waiting for.
I
see her every day when my mom drives by that place. I see her looking
through the evening dust.
When I go to bed I think of her. Sometimes I see her look at
herself in the muddy puddles. People sometimes look at her.
She’s just looking at those
jewels. Sometimes I see
Her look at me in the most un know way.
I see her when it rains. You would think she would move but no
she stays. I see her
looking at something can’t really tell what it is. But
she keeps on looking at it over & over again. Could she be thinking or
what?
When I come home from school I still
see her. I almost feel
sorry for that girl. I still see her so my mom went in the store
& talked to
the jeweler, the jeweler said I know so sad she has no
home. She sighed
once more; mom got back in the car. I guess she will stay there forever
