Middle
School:
Ruth
As she exited
the building downtown,
The tears burn
I her eyes,
She strives to
hold them back,
Instead, she
begins to cry.
What would she have been like?
What would she have looked like?
Would she have
been an actress?
Or maybe even
a nurse,
It’s
impractical to turn back time,
Now the woman
is burdened
With an
infinite curse.
She will
always feel liable.
And never
forget the truth,
About the
aborted child
She would have
named Ruth.
