Adult: Honorable
Mention
On this
walk to remember
On a
morning in early November
The crunch
of gravel on the path
That
encircles the lake.
The Muted
sound of traffic
Roaring
down the interstate.
The scurry
of the squirrel
That you
surprise on your way.
The riot
of color in the leaves on the tree
Watching
them glide to the ground
With each
gentle breeze.
A morning
with the frost
With the
crackle and pop
As the sun
hits the leaves
And warms
them up.
The
mirrored image of geese
Gliding on
still water.
Calling to
those above
To join
them for a while.
Then
taking of in formation
To explore
what’s nearby.
Softness
of the pine needles
And leaves
strewn on the path.
Being
thankful to God you are able
To enjoy
all that.
Using the
time to reflect and to pray
That you
will wake up tomorrow
To enjoy
another day.
