Revised 8/12/03

OVERDUE MATERIALS POLICY

A fine of 5 cents per day, will be assessed on each overdue library book, record, magazine, or cassette.    A fine of $1.00 per day will be assessed on each overdue videocassettes and music CD's. The fine will continue to increase until the fine on each article except videocassettes, matches the current cost of that article.

Patrons will be notified of the overdue material by telephone. If the patron is unreachable by phone after four (4) attempts, one postcard will be sent to notify patron of overdue material.

If a patron's unpaid fines exceed $10.00, the borrower's card will not be renewed until all of the fines have been paid. Patrons with materials overdue for more than 90 days will have their cards blocked until the materials are returned.

Fines on lost books will stop accumulating as soon as the library is notified that the material is lost. The patron will be required to pay the replacement cost and any fine which has accumulated to that date.
