Discover Your Inner Writer in April
Throughout the month, BCPL will be accepting entries in our annual writing contest in three categories: Poetry, Short Story, and True Story. BCPL cardholders should enter in the appropriate age division. In addition, for the first time, we will also be offering special workshops so that contest participants and others can find inspiration and polish their writing skills.

Join local children’s author Judy Mosley as she helps you dig into your imagination to create clear, visual stories. She’ll introduce the thesaurus, where she finds all her “juicy” words.
Brainstorm: Writing Your First Draft (Ages 13 & up*)

Join local author Robert Grant for helpful advice on capturing and improving those first rough story ideas.
Story Structure (Middle & High School Ages*)
